1999 - 19th World Jamboree - Picarquin, Chile

At the turn of the year 1998/99 a World Jamboree took place in Latin America for the first time. 31'000 Scouts from 157 nations participated in the 19th World Jamboree in Chile, which had the motto "Building Peace together". Global Development Village was used for the third time. Activities such as games and challenges, night hikes, community service in surrounding villages and visits to farms, factories and mines were on the programme.
